Since our last post we had two separate visits from family. First, Cassie’s mom, LeeAnn, and her stepfather, Lorne, met up with us while we were at Palm Cay Marina. During their visit we were able to sail our way down to the Exuma Cays, seeing Highbourne Cay and Allens Cay. We had an awesome time anchoring out and playing french darts between beach and tall reef walls on the Atlantic side of Highbourne. After they left, it was no more than a week later that my entire family showed up. My parents George and Kathy, three brothers Dave, Brad, and Blake, and my two sisters Lyndsey and Tracey. Along with them came my two nieces Alexis and Felicity and my nephew Chace. They flew into Bimini where we were able to snorkel Honeymoon Harbour and the Sapona wreck of South Bimini. We all had an awesome week of cramming ourselves onto a golf cart made for 6 as we explored all up and down North Bimini.
After the families had left it was just Cass and I for all of 24 hours. The next morning our good friends Hank and Adam showed up with a few friends of theirs and we spent the next week and a half at Brown’s Marina. It was 10 days packed full of drinking games and pool volleyball at the resorts. After our long stay on the island it was time to part ways as Hank and his crew sailed east towards the Virgin Islands and Cass and I sailed back to Florida to tie her up as we flew back north for a pure Michigan summer!
As summer is coming to an end we’re busy getting things ready for our next trip, a 3200 nautical mile journey through The Bahamas and up the East coast of the US all the way to Michigan for summer 2016.
